The Yoga Pro Podcast

May 26, 2021

Yoga can be a powerful tool for helping children and adults with special needs; but it’s vital to learn what yoga professionals need to know when working with this population.  Yael Sunshine joins us in the episode to share some important considerations.

Yael is Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Special Educator (MAT/SPED) with over 15 years’ experience in both fields. She has worked with toddlers to adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury and higher functioning learning differences. She has developed a highly effective approach to yoga with a lens on the whole person, using each client’s gifts to support their areas of need. Yael has written a chapter on Yoga for Special Needs in the soon to be published "Autism Instruction Manual".
